How to Move Your Goodreads TBR to Audiobooks
Your Goodreads TBR is a wishlist of books you mean to get to. Audiobooks are the easiest way to actually finish it — on commutes, walks, chores, or the gym. The catch is that no single store tells you which of your TBR titles are available on the service you already pay for. Here's how to bridge that gap in a few minutes.
Step 1 — Get your Goodreads shelf
You don't need to export anything. Your Goodreads profile has a public shelf URL (the "to-read" shelf by default). Copy the link to your profile, or the numeric user ID in it. If your shelf is private, make it public temporarily, or use Goodreads' CSV export (My Books → Import and export) and keep the file handy.
Custom shelves work too — "want-to-read-2026", "book-club", whatever you use. The only thing that matters is that the shelf lists the titles and authors.
Step 2 — Decide where you want to listen
The big four are Spotify, Apple Books, Audible, and Amazon. Spotify includes a monthly audiobook listening allowance with Premium in supported countries, so if you already pay for Premium, start there. Apple Books and Audible/Amazon sell audiobooks individually (Audible also has a credit-based membership). Libraries via Libby are free if you're willing to wait for holds.
You don't have to pick just one — plenty of readers check Spotify first for what's included, then fill gaps elsewhere.
Step 3 — Check your whole shelf at once
This is the step that usually takes forever by hand.
