However, when she realizes the case is about the long-forgotten and unidentified bones of a baby, … she knows this case will hurt in so many ways. Still, the thought of this case remaining unsolved for so many years makes her all that more determined to solve it. However, the more digging she does, the more people try to clamp down on talking to her, as she learns that family members of that little girl are still alive. No one is willing to talk, except one—who dies the morning after … When her case dovetails with another case and an old big-business local family, the gloves are off, and Doreen wades into the mix as always …
