La princesse Saraï d'Ammara est maudite: le jour de son vingt-cinquième anniversaire, elle sombrera dans un sommeil éternel, plongeant son royaume dans le chaos. Pour sauver Saraï et leur peuple, son père arrange son mariage avec le prince Balior, un beau jeune noble d'un royaume voisin. Mais Notus, le Vent du Sud, immortel, qui avait autrefois les faveurs de la princesse, revient dans sa vie. Saraï est déterminée à ignorer Notus et à suivre le plan de son père. À mesure qu'elle en apprend sur Balior, elle se rend compte qu'il a de sombres secrets et n'est pas le sauveur tant espéré.
