The Rotten Belly Society was an order that existed among some Native Americans tribes of the Great Plains. The members of this society were compelled by powerful visions to devote their lives to being contrarians. In simple terms, they did things backwards for the purpose of educating people on how to behave properly. The paths we follow through life aren’t always straight. The struggles we face are not always obvious to the people around us. The journey is messy, painful, and we do not escape it alive. Besides the ever-present danger of traveling across post-apocalyptic America, there are the personal demons that have pursued Dan across the country and across the years.
