The nations of Yaldrea and Luclaria have clashed off and on for centuries, and nobody can remember anything different. But suddenly, there is a new player in the game. Queen Genivive, the new ruler of the kingdom of Ostye, organizes an elaborate tournament whose outcome will determine which nation will win the help of the Ostynians, breaking Ostye’s historical neutrality. The competitors enter with different goals: Valkest, prince of Yaldrea, enters hoping to win an alliance that will bring an end to the cycle. Wilcock of Luclaria enters the competition determined to save his people and ends up with his heart captured in a way he did not expect.
