About The Donkey

The Brothers Grimm Jacob and Wilhelm were German academics, linguists and authors specializing in collecting and publishing folklore. The first volume of Grimm’s Fairy Tales was published in 1812 and was criticized for not being suitable for children and in later editions certain amendments were made. A king and a queen had no children for long, and finally the God sent them not a baby, but a donkey. The king decided to bring him up as a price and his heir. The donkey grew up well-mannered and polite, but as he saw his reflection, he decided to follow his nose. He came to the next kingdom and caught the fancy of its king, who decided to marry him to his daughter. How the donkey prince is going to reign? This is a wonderful sample of a folk tale and a nice entertaining story for little kids.
