The book was published originally in The Strand Magazine in 1899 as a 7-part series, with an additional story added after the author’s death. The Book of Dragons consists of 8 fantastical stories of dragons and people who get to meet and interact with them. The dragons are of all kinds, colors, temperaments and ages. The stories are full of adventures and action, with princes rescuing princesses from fierce dragons, caretaking dragons who care for human children, and even an appearance by St. George, famously known for his dragon-slaying abilities. These stories are imaginative and fanciful, and are perfect for listeners who want to get lost in a world where dragons roam the earth.
