Hoofdpersoon is Sonja, die op haar veertigste eindelijk de stap zet om rijlessen te nemen. Ze is vertaalster van Zweedse thrillers en haar sociale kring beperkt zich tot haar zweverige massagetherapeut en haar kwebbelzieke rij-instructrice. Met ingetogen humor schetst Nors het leven van een jonge vrouw die richting zoekt in een schijnbaar doelloos bestaan.
