Laura Turner is grateful for her position as governess to her younger cousins—employment that helps provide for her impoverished family. But when her oldest cousin missteps, Laura is reluctantly thrust into Society as her lady’s companion. When the charming man Laura encounters at a ball turns out to be the very gentleman intended for her cousin, Laura is forced to ignore her absurd hopes and enact a ruse that will lead Mr. Huntington to pursue her cousin. With everyone’s expectations placed upon her and her position at Linwick Manor at stake, there is no room for error. Especially when Mr. Huntington’s intentions begin to shift to Laura. If only Laura weren’t such an atrocious liar.
