After Jim Wendell’s terrifying encounter with the bear in Arctodus, he visited his neighbor, Walter. The elderly gentleman kept his promise to share a story from his childhood. What is the meaning of several curious items in a living room cabinet? Jim will soon find out. In the mid-1900s, four young Shoshone boys fled the Wind River Reservation in Wyoming to avoid capture by white men. If caught, they would have been forced into boarding schools to learn the English language and assimilate into a strange and foreign way of life. Cameahwait, Pinquana, Tondzaosha, and Wirasuap planned to get away and rebuild their Shoshone nation within an isolated basin in the Wind River Mountain Range. After reaching a picturesque setting with a lush landscape and abundant wildlife, the boys were hopeful about their new lives and reuniting with their families. But the foursome is oblivious to the sinister creatures who lurk in these mountains. Something evil will defend its territory from these young intruders. And they must eat.
