It was our first effort to describe how we recovered from this powerful addiction and how we maintained our abstinence. The second edition corrected many grammatical errors and changed some of the references of smoking to nicotine. The third edition includes the preface, A New Freedom—Rodger’s Story. The fourth edition includes a revised questionnaire section that combines and reorganizes the responses, an extended explanation of the Twelve Traditions and our newly adopted 7th Step prayer. The fifth edition includes some revisions to the text.” “The Four Sections: Part I—“ Our Story” draws from the responses of our members to the questionnaire.
