The end of the world arrived at the same time that a massive blizzard hit the city of Colorado Springs. During the storm, people began losing their minds. These people instantly became giddy killers who laughed while they murdered. Every fiendish assault on normal people was hilarious, every death a cause for hysterics. No one was safe from them. They hunted the young and old alike. They soon became known as the laughers. As Reggie and his band of survivors attempt to settle into the cabin in the woods where they hope to remain hidden, a new horror is brewing. This one is of the human variety. A man, Jonah, is coming for them and he is not intimidated by the destruction of the laughers, or even the laughers themselves. Jonah is not scared by the new state of the world because he created it. He created the disease that has destroyed humanity and changed the majority of the earths survivors into giddy killers. As Reggie and his friends are about to learn, Jonah and his security forces are coming to Colorado Springs, specifically to find them. Jonah wants them dead and is determined to see his mission through to the end unless of course they are first killed by the maniacal hunters who roam the city streets. Because around every corner, waiting for them is a Laugher!
