This is an Apple Books audiobook narrated by a digital voice based on a human narrator. My name is Thomas Lionsey and I come from a long line of Guardians. My father was a guardian, my uncle was a guardian, my grandfather was one too. My cousin is Harry Lionsey, bearer of the family sword and the Guardian of the Gate city. I am the first of the Lionsey line since the inception of the guardians to be turned away from the Rites. Instead of following in the footsteps of my family I have taken on a different role. That of a Finder. In the Queen city there are children of all kinds who need my help. With the 'gift's my mother's blood gave me I track down the missing, abandoned and kidnapped children. I save them from those who do not have their best interests at heart. Most times I find them and help them heal up, sending them either back to their families or onto new ones who will protect and nuture them. Sometimes all I can do is get them justice. The city of Manchester has become a lawless zone after the death of the last Guardian. I do my best to help, heal and counsel those human and Other who need help when I am not Finding children, but this time an old enemy has been taking very special children and I may have to pay a cost to rescueing them. I'll pay it, because I am the son of a Guardian.
