Holly is a book about a mother and her daughter who was born with Down syndrome. It is a story of how love doesn’t always come on time and how the unexpected can make a person become more than one ever believed. Holly enters into life with heart disease and is a ticking time bomb. She evolves into a young and wise married woman who asks, “How do I be a good wife, Mom?” Dixie begins her life with Holly by race-walking away from home to stop the crying and ends up completing 26 marathons, swimming 10 times from Alcatraz, summiting Mt. Kilimanjaro, and becoming an international champion in her age division in amateur bodybuilding categories: Ms. Physique and Ms. Sport Model. As Holly ages, Holly faces unexpected challenges in obesity and diabetes type 2. Because of Holly’s perseverance and the help of keto coach JD Griffin, Holly makes big changes in her overall health and will be stepping into modeling in a first-time fashion show hosted by St. Vincent de Paul Society and Kathleen Woodcock in Marin County, March 2022.
