Duck is a great swimmer. She splashes around the lake faster than her friend, Gander. But Gander flaps his wings and flies higher in the sky than Duck. The two friends fluff up their feathers and shout at each other, "I am the champion of champions!" Soon they think of the perfect contest. The bird who stands still the longest will be the "forever champion." But as they "freeze-in-place"-not even fidgeting a feather-along comes a host of troublesome visitors. The children next door inspired critically-acclaimed children's author Erica Silverman to create this lively, fun-filled story. In Don't Fidget a Feather!, she deftly captures their spirit of rivalry and of friendship. As youngsters listen to John McDonough's entertaining narration, they will discover winning isn't everything.
