After the end of global war, the World Union has been formed, and with it, the planet has finally been given hope for peace. But there are forces who seek to sow chaos, and to accomplish this, they unveil the planet’s darkest secret. During a violent storm, a terrorist group infiltrates one of the World Union’s military outposts in Antarctica. Using thermal bombs to melt the ice, they release a beast of colossal proportions from its frozen imprisonment. It is a creature with unmatched strength, capable of great leaps and long-distance flights, and fueled by an appetite spanning through centuries—the Praying Mantis. Now on a warpath, the gargantuan insect rampages through numerous Antarctic military installations, making its way to the central colony and its population of ten thousand people. With time running out, a rogue marshal works with a scientist to uncover the creature’s weakness and prevent the evil terrorist force from awakening the many other beasts frozen beneath the ice.
