Christmas in Scotland. After this past year, I wasn’t sure I would ever celebrate another holiday. Jordon was sleeping behind me and out the window I saw not just the snow covered landscape but our future stretching out into the distance. For the first time since I could remember, I didn’t see the next mission. There wasn’t one. Steel was no more. I was ready for a new life, one full of promise and not death. Nickoli was with us now, fighting battles none of us could quite understand. He was struggling to find his place among us.
