Julian Fellowes, der Autor von "Downton Abbey", entführt die Leser ins 19. Jahrhunderts. Im Mittelpunkt steht eine unerhörte Liebesgeschichte. Fellowes lässt dabei die Zeit Charles Dickens‘ lebendig werden, zeigt, wie sich der alte englische Adel und die Händler, die mit der Errichtung des Commonwealth reich und mächtig geworden sind, arrangieren müssen.
